Spanish Golden Visa – possibility of closure of the program

Spanish Golden Visa program via property investment may close soon.
Last week, the Spanish government again returned to the issue of closing the Golden Visa program. First, the Council of Ministers, and now the country’s ruling party, put forward a proposal to finally cancel the program for issuing residence permits for investments. Consideration of the proposal is expected in early September this year.
When purchasing real estate in Spain for a minimum amount of €500,000 or more, you receive ownership rights and can obtain a residence permit for 3 years. The property can be residential or commercial. You can sell real estate after obtaining permanent residence.
Registration of a residence permit in Spain is possible in just 20 days. In total, the entire process from registering real estate to obtaining a residence permit takes 3-4 months.
Together with you, your family members will be able to obtain a residence permit: spouse, children under 26 years of age (unmarried and dependent on the investor), financially dependent parents and retired parents.
